Practice Journaling, code and mowing

I still need to start getting into the habit of posting some journal entries on the blog. Practice. Practice. Practice.

I preordered a MacBook Air 15” fully loaded today. Fuck.

The one I’m using now will be wiped and given to my wife. She wanted to buy a MacBook. This one is WAY more than she needs, but it will last her forever.

She got a deal. It’s an 13” MacBook Air, 24GB with a 1TB SSD. Not too shabby, and it’s fast. The battery still lasts 17ish hours.

I keep running out of HD room with all the AI models and all the work I’m creating with its help. Lack of space has become frustrating. I also want to drive two monitors. I didn’t know until after I bought the 13” that it could only drive one.

That and I want more screen real estate for when I code when I’m not at the desk.  My eyes are wearing out.

Saw an interesting way of making a journal in my RSS reader from https://rknight.me/blog/link-dump-6/ . He links to this guy https://social.lol/@humdrum/114037621412211034 about how he takes screenshots, lays them out in Pixelmator, prints them out, and puts them in a Field Notes book.

The process is to create a folder where you save screenshots of cool stuff you come across or take during the progress of a project. Or whatever else really.

He says he has it streamlined and takes him 30 seconds at the end of the day to put it together.  I love the idea but I doubt that could do that in 30 seconds or even 10 minutes.

I’d print to PDF instead of paper. Then put the PDF into an Apple Note since I use it every day. Maybe make a book out of it at the end of the year.

I want to try it but I’m not sure if I’ll do it though. I don’t surf the web much and most of the cool things I find are now videos. Those don’t lead themselves well to a static journal page.

I’ve been heads down working on writing a web app tool to help me make books. I think I have a few more days to get it working 100%. The prototypes are working so well, it’s amazing. I’m so happy with it.

Today I cut the grass and did a bunch of chores. It’s now 7 p.m. and I’m too tired to work on the app today.  Tomorrow for sure.  It’s supposed to rain, and I adore rainy days.

So I spent some time looking at the two prototype games I’ve built for KaiOS last weekend.  To be honest, I forgot I even made those. I also forgot how much work I got done with them.  Those two games are my top priority when I finish my web app.
