MAJE 25-10-11

I started on the fourth revision of my tessellation tool. This one is much more sleek and back to my original idea. It took a fraction of the time to build: 14 hours as opposed to 6 months of the combined time it took to build the first three! I learned a lot over those six months.

I have a few bugs left to fix that I will look at over the weekend if I’m up to it. I rewrote the code to create seamless tiles. It’s much faster and smoother in real time, but they are no longer seamless in some cases. I think I know the issue, but I need time to cool down before I fix this.

I think I’ll work on the art for this project for a couple of days.

I’ve been lurking around Substack this week. Toying with the idea of using it as the main journal. I want something simpler than KirbyCMS. I’m really not sure what I think about it. It’s the newsletter thing that gets me.

I want to get into a rhythm of posting a lot, but the idea of an email being sent out every time I post smells kinda spammy to me. Maybe I’m misunderstanding something?

I’m having such a hard time posting this because of that idea! I see the checkbox where I can turn off the send via email and Substack app. What does “not” sending to Substack app even mean? Isn’t that the point?! RTFM maybe? haha

Trying to get the algorithm to show me things I’m interested in isn’t working out. It’s been about a week, and I still see a ton of people selling courses. I want to read about people doing their creative thing, not pepper-sprayed with guru posts and AI slop.

More than ever, I crave to see what real creative humans are doing. AI is everywhere now. It propagated so fucking fast!

Though those Mr. Rogers and Tupac videos are a lot of feel-good fun. :)
