Resurrecting My "Lost" Games

Started up a couple of game projects this weekend.

Outside of working on Puzizzle and reader app, my heart and love for making games is still here.

Reimagining my Sputnik Games iOS games

You cannot play any of the iOS games I made from back in 2008-1014 any more. They might work on old iPhone hardware if you still have iOS 6 or 7 and have them already installed on your device.

I’m starting with Soccer Kickoff. It’s a “toss” or “launcher” game where to kick the ball as far as you can, gain power ups, avoid obstacles, and unlock items.

World Cup is about to start so I think it a fun place to start.

I tried to give AI my whole complete project and reskin it to look modern. Actually want that early Y2K look.

Holy shit. Every ai I tried did a horrible job!

It looked like shit and played like shit! I quickly abandoned ai use for this. Not worth the headache.

When I started to use my brain and my creativity the game porting became a hell of a lot easier.

It’s almost working. I should have it done this up coming weekend.

Then it’s onto Fish Frenzy.

Reimagining my Disney Online Games

I used to work at Disney Online during the late 90s (the golden years IMHO). I made Shockwave games for their Daily Blast, ESPN, and their other internal IPs and sponsors.

There is almost no way to play them anymore. They require the legacy Shockwave plugin.

Even if one builds a Director Projector to run a .dcr game file the games pings a server that hasn’t been active in about 25 years. That would mean it’ll most likely throw an error. (At least that’s what I can remember)

I’m starting with with two games. Penguin Bounce and a joust clone with pigs.

Thinking about either putting them on Retrostalgic or create a new web site. Maybe it’ll just be a section on Retrostalgic to keep things less complicated than it needs to be.

I will not be using any copyrighted material. These game are literally a reimagining of those game with new art and code.

This is gonna be fun.
