Better than a Blank Page: Drafting the Reset

I don’t know what to write about and it’s driving me crazy!

I had to constantly remind myself that I'm doing this for myself. It’s a journal, It’s starting over.

Why the fuck am I so anxious?

I want to remember this. I’m afraid that I will forget what I’ve done when I get older. I’m starting to see that in my parents now, who are in their 80s.

I used to journal a ton but that was in sketchbooks. I “doodle journaled” if that’s what I can even call it.

Maybe it’s a muscle that I need to train. Practice…practice…practice. I said this to myself before.

ok so what am I starting over really?

I’m still trying to get the hang of myself again and understand who I am what I’m doing or should be doing now.

I had to ask Gemini to look at my schedule and create a “Weekly Map” of my time. This is helping a ton.

I charted out days and hours into blocks of certain projects, breaks and chores. This is the first week I’m putting it use.

I’m still coding but I’m using the apps I code to write tools to make real world things like puzzle books. These books have a companion web site with daily puzzles too which I hope to put live in beta soon.

I still make games. That’s what weekends are now for and if I have spare time during the week.

I’ve started to rewrite some of my best selling games from… 17 years ago now? (holy fuck) Giving them a modern look and feel.

I use AI for some of this. Mostly the what I call the boring code. I give it one of my templates to start. A I write code I ask how to do something instead of looking up on StackOverflow. Save a ton of time.

I write about my game process on Retrostalgic. It’s a bit more geeky :)

One third off my day in spent creating puzzles to convert to print and export to a daily puzzle app I’m building.

I’m working on a fast reader to help me read my books, Substack and RSS feeds.

That’s my brain bump for this morning. My official starting post.
